One man has been charged with manslaughter after a fatal vehicle rollover accident that happened Thursday in Bixby, police said.
At about 9:20 p.m., Bixby police and fire were dispatched to the area of 8800 E. 171st St. for a single-vehicle rollover. Arriving officers found that a juvenile female had been ejected from the vehicle and she was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. Two other juveniles and an adult were transported to the hospital as well.
The driver, Elliott Binney, fled the scene shortly after the collision, police said. With the assistance of local law enforcement, Binney was located and detained in Checotah.
Binney was transported to a Tulsa area hospital and was then booked on charges of first-degree manslaughter, leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death and passing in a no-passing zone.
Bixby police said they have no further information to release at this time pending their ongoing investigation.
