Authorities said 3 people were killed and 1 child is in critical condition after massive fire broke out inside a mobile home early Saturday.
Broken Arrow Deputy Fire Chief James Suddath said firefighters responded to the fire near Kenosha Street and County Line Road after 5 a.m., according to media reports.
A grandmother and two children died in the fire, Suddath said, and one grandchild was able to escape but was badly burned and is hospitalized.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but firefighters said there was no gas running to the house and they don’t believe there were smoke detectors present.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with funeral expenses. In the hours since the fire Saturday more than $6,100 was already raised.
Hector Villalvazo, a friend of Manuel Talamantes, created the page and confirmed the deaths.
“Losing family members is never easy, especially in such a freak accident. I know these upcoming days will not be easy, but it is even harder when you have to deal with financial stress associated with morticians and burials,” Villalvazo wrote.
“If you find it in your heart and have anything to help make this process a little easier for his family, it would mean the world for his family and me.“
