Welcome to another new year here at Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow. In the coming weeks the campus will come alive with the promise of a new academic chapter.
The spring semester, like the new year, brings fresh beginnings and the opportunity to make good on the promise you have made yourself regarding your educational journey. Lucky for you, NSU offers a variety of pathways to help you accomplish those educational goals for the new year.
The Reach Higher program at NSU offers working adults a flexible option to complete their bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership. The program’s FlexFinish format offers online class options in 8-week blocks offered during five enrollment periods per year.
Each student who enrolls in the Reach Higher Program receives personalized degree completion plans designed to work with their schedule. And, because NSU maintains one of the lowest tuition rates of any university in Oklahoma, students can be assured that they will receive a quality education at an affordable price. For more information on program details and requirements, visit nsuok.edu/ReachHigher.
NSU’s top ranked Master of Business Administration degree is another excellent program opportunity for today’s working professionals. The program was recently recognized as a best value online MBA program in the nation by DiscoverBusiness.us coming in at just $13,000.
The MBA at Northeastern covers advanced topics in all areas of business including accounting, finance, economics, business intelligence and analytics and management. Students can choose from nine concentrations, including Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Environmental, Health and Safety Management, General Management, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Managerial Accounting and Finance, Native American Enterprise and Project Management. In-demand, professional certificates are also embedded within the degree programs as well.
To accommodate working students, the Master of Business Administration degree is offered completely online or in a blended format with in-person classes right here on the Broken Arrow campus. There are also opportunities for transfer students to continue their education at NSU during this new year. Through the Smart Choice program, students can apply their associate degree from Carl Albert State College, Connors State College, Eastern Oklahoma State College, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College or Tulsa Community College directly to complete a bachelor’s degree at NSU.
By working with advisors at both institutions, students ensure they are making the most of their time and money by taking courses that will help them complete their degrees. This program allows for a smooth transfer to NSU.
Smart Choice isn’t the only option for students to transfer their credits to NSU though. Coursework from other institutions is evaluated on a course-by-course basis to determine whether or not it satisfies specific general education, major or minor requirements at NSU. All credit hours from a fully accredited college or university will be posted to a student’s NSU transcript.

Not interested in a degree at this time? Perhaps continuing education can help you reach your educational goals. NSU strives to offer immersive and hands-on learning opportunities for students at any stage of their career or education. One program that is unique to the Broken Arrow campus is the crime investigator certificate offered through NSU Continuing Education.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has developed this specialized CSI certificate program specifically for current Oklahoma law enforcement officers. OSBI crime scene agents serve as instructors along with members of the Broken Arrow Police Department.
The program is offered in four course levels online and in person on the NSU-Broken Arrow campus. This blended platform allows for greater attendance by law enforcement departments who are not staffed or funded at levels that allow all on campus training. These courses will kick off with Crime Scene Investigator I on Jan. 29. To learn more about the CSI certificate or to enroll now, visit https://academics.nsuok.edu/continuingeducation/Certificates/CrimeSceneInvestigator.aspx.
Whatever your academic goals may be, NSU wants to help you accomplish them in 2024. There’s no need to wait until next fall and the start of a new academic year when the new semester is upon us.
