Broken Arrow police had to shut down Elm Place for a brief period Friday after an accident caused a vehicle to careen into a power pole and knock down power lines across the road.
Police and firefighters were dispatched to the 800 block of S. Elm Place at 1:56 p.m. and discovered the vehicular accident. A wood utility pool on the west side of the street was snapped near its base, which felled the power lines.
Traffic was stopped on Elm Place for a period as PSO responded to the scene to address the downed wires. There was no immediate word of any injuries related to the accident.
Broken Arrow police announced the road back open at 3:10 p.m. “A big shout out to PSO for their quick response and efficient work on the downed power lines at Elm Place,” said BAPD Sgt. Jordan Sawyer.
