Walmart customers in Broken Arrow were welcomed inside the newly transformed Supercenter at 2301 W Kenosha St. as the much-anticipated renovation is now complete.
Walmart associates marked the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony, check presentation, community celebration and mural unveiling.
“Our Broken Arrow store has always been proud to serve this community,” said Missy Litton, Walmart store manager, in a statement. “Making shopping easier and more enjoyable for our customers is always a priority, and this renovation helps us do just that. We’re grateful to our incredible associates and the Broken Arrow community for their support throughout the process.”
During the celebration, store leaders and associates highlighted the transformation, as well as the new interactive features available to customers, including:
- Merchandise displays that pull customers in and help them touch, feel and become a part of the space
- Transformed departments, plus expansion of online pickup and delivery
- New Pharmacy updates with the addition of a Wellness Room
- Fully remodeled bathrooms, including a Mother’s Room
- Reconfigured store layout, creating more space for customers to explore and discover what their local store has to offer
- Refreshed exterior with new signage for easier navigation through the stores and exterior updates to the parking lot and landscaping
To further illustrate Walmart’s commitment to helping others live better in the to the communities it serves, the store manager and associates presented $7,650 in grants to local nonprofit organizations, including:
- $5,000 to Broken Arrow High School
- $1,650 to Joy and The Cause
- $1,000 to Stored Goodness
The ceremony concluded with the exciting unveiling of the store’s new mural, designed and illustrated by local artist Banks Compton. The mural is an eye-catching installation that reflects local pride in Broken Arrow schools through its depiction of the town cheering on student athletes from the stands.
The mural is part of Walmart’s Community Mural Program, one of the largest public-facing art installations celebrating communities across America. The program is an important part of each store’s transformation and furthers Walmart’s commitment to the local community.
