The annual Rooster Egg Hunt is a tradition dating back over 20 years in the Broken Arrow community.
Formerly organized by the BA Chamber of Commerce, this popular pre-Rooster Days event is now organized by the Rotary Club of Broken Arrow, a 501(c)3 corporation. The Hunt, which brings recognition to the businesses sponsoring the contest, has an avid following of Egg Seekers.
The egg will be hidden in a publicly accessible location in Broken Arrow and will be packaged with instructions on how to contact the Rotary Club to verify the find.
Location of the hidden “Rooster Egg” will be gradually revealed by “clues” announced through the media, postings on clue sponsors’ social media and at their business locations, and on the Rotary Club of Broken Arrow’s Facebook page and website: www.barotary.org.
Beginning May 23, 2022, this year’s Bonus Clue Sponsor, Nature Guard Pest & Lawn, will post the weekday clues at 10 a.m., plus an exclusive Saturday clue available nowhere else. Other sponsorship levels will reveal the clues at 11 a.m. each weekday. The Rotary Club of Broken Arrow and the BA Chamber will post the weekday clues at noon.
The Finder of the Rotary Rooster Egg will get to ride in the Rooster Day Parade on Saturday, June 11, and will receive the $1,000 cash prize afterwards on stage at the Rooster Days Festival in Central Park. The Rooster Egg will then be donated to the Museum Broken Arrow to add to their collection of 27 wood, ceramic, and plastic eggs, hand painted by various artists in the community.
Sponsorship is open for all categories except the Exclusive Bonus Clue level. Beyond covering the cash prize for the Egg’s Finder, the balance of the sponsors’ dollars will go right back into our community in the forms of grants and scholarships.
