Former Broken Arrow High School football star Andrew Raym has signed a free-agent contract with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.
Smokies BBQ restaurant in Broken Arrow, where his mother works, shared the news Saturday in a Facebook post and invited people to come in and congratulate her.
Raym has been a fixture on the Sooners’ offensive line, especially for the last two seasons. In 2023, Raym was Second-Team All-Big 12 Conference and he started 12 games at center for the Sooners.
In 2022 he was Honorable Mention All-Big 12 Conference and started the first 10 games of the season at center, missing the final three contests due to a shoulder injury.
He was again Honorable Mention All-Big 12 Conference in 2021 and payed in 12 games with 7 starts at center.
NFL scouting reports say Raym is ”burly and broad with NFL measurables for the position” but he will have to fight to earn a roster spot.
“Center with good toughness and a willingness to do whatever he needs to in order to come out on top of the rep,” NFL reports say. “Coaches love tough guys with size, which gives him a shot at making an NFL roster.”
