The deadline for Coweta residents to file an application to serve on a vacant City Council seat is looming.
Former Vice Mayor Logan Brown recently moved outside of the city’s municipal boundaries and resigned his position in accordance with regulations.
The city will be accepting declarations of candidacy (download form here) and letters of interest from interested Ward 4 residents (view ward boundaries map) for consideration for appointment by the City Council to serve the remainder of Logan’s term.
Letters of interest should include a statement about why you are interested in becoming a council member and any skills or experience you have as an elected official. Please note, all applicants will be subject to a background check.
Sealed declarations of candidacy and letters of interest should be addressed to the City Clerk, with “re: Council Candidate” clearly stated on the envelope.
