The deadline to submit a letter of interest for an appointment to the vacant seat for Ward 4 of the Broken Arrow City Council is Thursday, June 15.
The City Clerk will accept letters until 5 p.m.
To be considered for the open seat, residents must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have lived in Ward 4 for the past six months
- Have been a registered voter for the past six months
Individuals who meet the above requirements and submit a letter of interest are encouraged to attend a special meeting at 5 p.m. on June 19 in City Council Chambers. Each interested party in attendance will be permitted to do a short presentation and answer questions from the Council.

On the 19th, councilmembers will have the option to make a motion to appoint an individual to fill the seat for Ward 4 in either the special meeting or during the regular meeting that follows at 6:30 p.m. A majority vote of the City Council is necessary to make an appointment.
An appointed representative would serve Ward 4 until the city’s next general election on April 1, 2025.
