New Orleans Square Block Party
The City of Broken Arrow is gearing up for its annual Block Party, happening June 27-28, from 6-10:30 p.m. at New Orleans Square. This event marks Broken Arrow’s official Fourth of July celebration, bringing the community together in a spirited display of patriotism, entertainment, and family fun.
The two-night festival will feature an exciting lineup of music from renowned artists including John Elefante of Kansas, Kevin Chalfant of Journey, Glen Burtnik of Styx, and Brady Seals of Little Texas on Friday. Saturday will showcase performances by Paul Petersen and Ricky Petersen, who have toured with bands such as the Steve Miller Band, Peter Frampton, Kenny Loggins, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, and more.
Brian Dean, owner of Waters Edge Winery and event promoter, highlighted the event’s vibrancy: “We’re thrilled to bring an incredible lineup of music, food, and fun to New Orleans Square. This event is all about celebrating Broken Arrow’s vibrant culture with live entertainment, great food trucks, and activities for all ages.”
Food lovers will enjoy a variety of options from over 20 food trucks offering everything from Indian tacos and classic burgers to shaved ice and smoked meats. Additionally, a selection of vendors will provide crafts, face painting, glitter tattoos, and other engaging activities. Families can look forward to the free Kids Zone, featuring bounce houses, face painting, and a new sprinkler zone where kids can cool off and play. Fireworks will cap off each evening’s festivities, lighting up the sky both Friday and Saturday nights.
Parking will be available in the northeast, southwest, and southeast lots, with a portion of the northwest quadrant reserved for disabled parking accessible from New Orleans Street. Arrow Heights Baptist Church will host the designated rideshare pickup and drop-off area. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating as well as a water bottle for the heat, with all areas offering excellent views of the fireworks.
For safety and comfort, the City of Broken Arrow discourages bringing pets due to heat, loud noises, and limited water access. City Ordinance 2067 prohibits dogs at assemblies of over 1,000 people, except for service animals.
