SUMMARY:AUDITION- The Olympians An Epic Muse-ical
DESCRIPTION:“THE OLYMPIANS”\nAn Epic Muse-ical\nBook by Cara Reichel\nOrchestrations by Peter C. Mills \nOPEN AUDITIONS! Monday June 9\, 2025 6:30 PM\n& Tuesday June 10\, 2025 6:30 PM\nPerformance dates August 15-24\, 2025\nFridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM Sundays at 2:00 PM \nThe Broken Arrow Community Playhouse will hold open auditions for the new musical comedy\, The Olympians\, Monday and Tuesday\, June 9 and 10 at 6:30 PM at the Broken Arrow Community Playhouse 1800 S. Main St. Broken Arrow\, OK 74012. \nThe BACP welcomes Director Toni Ross and Music Director Kevin Pearson. The cast of The Olympians requires seven women\, three Men plus an ensemble Greek chorus. Age ranges teens through 50’s. Roles may be played by actors of any ethnicity. The audition will consist of cold readings from the script and an actor-prepared one-minute Pop song showcasing a vocal range. Those who audition must bring an accompaniment track on their phone or device. There will also be a simple dance combination taught for a dance audition. Resumes and photos are requested if available. Performance dates will be Aug. 15 – 24\, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM\, Sundays at 2:00 PM. \nThe Olympians scenario – It’s Ancient Greece\, and for Artemis\, Athena\, and Aphrodite\, enough is enough. As female gods\, how can they enjoy immortal life when they rule over a society that doesn’t have equal rights for women? What they need is a hero – a female one – to inspire women across the world. They each choose a champion – one for their brain\, one for their physical prowess\, and one for their kindness of heart. They send each on an epic quest to prove their worth as a hero so they can anoint the winner as their champion. When the male gods catch wind of the women’s plans however\, they use their powers to make the quest much more treacherous than the female gods intended. The women find the only way to overcome the male gods’ mayhem is to band together and prove that sometimes you can all be heroes. The Olympians features an eclectic score of well-loved hits\, ranging from Pat Benatar\, Miley Cyrus\, The Chicks\, Kelly Clarkson\, Blondie and many more. \nCHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:\nTHE GODS: \nARTEMIS Female 18-56 All ethnicities\nFierce.
