Broken Arrow residents have three opportunities to attend public forums to meet with city officials and learn more about the roughly $600 million in proposed projects under consideration for the 2026 General Obligation Bond Package.
Of the proposed projects, city officials estimate that some $400 million will be available to fund projects if the voters approve the bond initiative in April 2026. These bond-funded projects will not result in a property tax rate increase.
The City Council is seeking input from residents on which projects to prioritize, as it will be up to them to decide which projects are ultimately included in the bond propositions for Transportation, Public Safety, Parks and Recreation, Public Facilities, Stormwater and Drainage.
Fourteen organizations use City of Broken Arrow facilities and have requested improvements to enhance the experience for citizens and visitors of the facilities.
The organizations include Youth Football and Lacrosse, Youth Baseball, Youth Soccer, Girls Softball, Adult Softball, Arts@302, Broken Arrow Community Playhouse, Keep Broken Arrow Beautiful, the Broken Arrow Veterans Center, Broken Arrow Seniors, the Broken Arrow Museum, Genealogy and the Military History Center. The improvements are projects also being considered for the 2026 GO Bond.
At the forums residents can view the plans under consideration and discuss the improvements’ impact on each of the organizations, as well as receive information about various projects in streets, stormwater, parks and public safety.
Consideration will also be given as to whether the Tulsa City-County Library system should receive bond funds in a separate proposition to build a new library in south Broken Arrow.
The public forums will provide residents with an open format, come-and-go opportunity to discuss the projects and ask any questions they may have regarding the proposed projects or even about the function of the bond itself.
The dates and locations for the public Forums are as follows:
- Thursday, Aug. 28 – Battle Creek Golf Course Banquet Room, 3200 N. Battle Creek Drive, 6:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 3 – Broken Arrow Public Schools Event Center, Varsity Room, 2200 N. 23rd Street, 6:30 p.m.
