Oneta Ridge Middle School students Hayden Dumas, Marshall Bowser, Lucas Wheatley and Bryce Wheeler recently won first place at the 2025 National Technology Student Association Vlogging Competition.
After participating and winning first place in the state event, they competed at the national competition in Nashville, Tenn., June 27-July 1 and took home the grand prize.
The competition required them to create a short video series based on a given theme. Our team developed a creative vlog exploring goal-setting, accountability and discipline through storytelling and original cinematography.
Each video had to meet strict guidelines around messaging, structure, and editing—and our students rose to the challenge,” said Robert Dumas, a teacher at the middle school.
“This remarkable achievement highlights the creativity, collaboration, and technical skills of our middle school students, who competed against teams from across the country.
Their winning vlog showcased both storytelling and production talent, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishment.”
