WAGONER — Two people were killed Thursday during a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 69 just north of Wagoner, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said Paul K. Simmons, 63, of Springfield, Mo., lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway at about 12:49 p.m. and crossed the center median near E. 690 Road, striking a semi tractor-trailer.
Both Simmons and a passenger in the vehicle, 77-year-old Connie Johnson of Springfield, Mo., were killed in the accident, OHP said. Seatbelts were in use by all in the vehicle.
The driver of the semi, 22-year-old Shawn Lewis of Spring, Texas, was not injured in the accident.
