The Broken Arrow Public Schools said one of its buses was involved in a collision Wednesday morning but there were no serious injuries.
The incident happened at 8:53 a.m. at the intersection of Olive Avenue and Florence Street in south Broken Arrow.
The Broken Arrow Police Department said preliminary investigation shows an SUV that was eastbound on Florence ran a red light and struck the school bus on its right side as it was headed south on Olive. The impact sent the school bus careening off the road into a property fence.
Three special needs students and a school aide were on the bus at the time but were not injured, BAPS said. The SUV driver was not injured, but the school bus driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of arm and hand injuries.
