A resident of Tulsa was hospitalized Monday after his motorcycle struck a deer and slid off the road, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Raymond Harris, 56, was headed southbound on Route 66 near 229th West Avenue at 6:18 p.m. when a deer appeared in his path.
Harris’ 2015 Harley Davidson Street Glide struck the deer and the bike laid over. The motorcycle crossed the center line and departed the roadway.
Harris was taken by Creek County EMS to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he was admitted in stable condition with head and arm injuries. Troopers said Harris was not wearing a helmet.
The Creek County Sheriff’s Office also assisted as the scene.
