After going public this year, executives from Venu — the company building the Sunset Theater in Broken Arrow — rang the opening bell recently at the New York Stock Exchange.
Executives said the moment, “marked an important milestone in the company’s journey of creating premium, fan-owned entertainment destinations.”
Formerly Notes Live, Venu bills itself as a “leading premium hospitality and live entertainment company built by music fans for music fans.”
“Ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange was a celebration of our fans, our vision, and the bold journey that we are on,” said J.W. Roth, founder, chairman and CEO of VENU.
“With our strengthening balance sheet and the groundwork laid for rapid expansion, we’re redefining the future of live entertainment as we create extraordinary experiences for fans and investors alike. This is just the start of an even bigger adventure.”
Following the ceremony Roth spoke with Bloomberg, NYSE TV and Cheddar about the experience. Watch the full interviews below:

Construction is under way on the Broken Arrow amphitheater, a $93 million facility, counting infrastructure improvements, that will have 12,500 seats.
With existing operations in Colorado Springs and Gainesville (Ga.), VENU is expanding its footprint with an estimated $1.3 billion in active construction and development projects across Oklahoma and Texas. The company is actively developing venues in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma City, El Paso and McKinney, Texas, with five additional markets in pre-construction.
In December 2024, Venu closed over $11 million in Fire Pit Suite sales, bringing the year’s total to $77.7 million. The company projects Fire Pit Suite sales to exceed $200 million this year.
City and state officials held a groundbreaking ceremony in October and stated they believed the amphitheater will “transform” the southeast quadrant of Broken Arrow with commercial and residential investment.
They also mentioned a potential partnership between the amphitheater management and the hospitality program at Northeastern State University.
Roth said at the ceremony that music is the “number one leisure activity in the world, more so than football, baseball and everything else. Music is the number one leisure activity and you know what we found?
“Municipalities like Broken Arrow not only embrace what we’re doing but love what we’re doing, and they partner with us and it becomes it becomes a family. And when you go through these things together you become family.”
