The Rose District will burst with color, culture, and community spirit on Saturday, May 3, as the City of Broken Arrow hosts its annual Fiesta de Mayo celebration from 4-10 p.m.
Presented by Vega & Treviño Consulting and sponsored by the City of Broken Arrow, the Rose District, and Supermercados Morelos, this vibrant event is a tribute to the rich and diverse traditions of Hispanic heritage.
“This event is about more than just celebration — it’s about connection,” said Broken Arrow Mayor Debra Wimpee. “Fiesta de Mayo is an opportunity to honor Hispanic culture and heritage in an authentic, inclusive way that brings our entire community together.”
This year’s event will feature an exciting entertainment lineup, including:
- A Latin Parade on Main Street with Tamborazo El Bravo & Pakilistli Dancers
- Traditional folk dance performances by Ballet Folklórico Sol Azteca and Danza Santa Cruz
- A high-energy children’s show with Papa Rap
- Regional Mexican music by Pablo Leos
- A Selena Look-Alike Contest at 7:20 p.m. (no singing required!)
- Salsa dancing, including a public class and a closing performance by Calle Soul
“Fiesta de Mayo is a direct reflection of the City of Broken Arrow’s commitment to purposeful and authentic representation,” said Margarita Vega, co-founder of Vega & Treviño Consulting. “We’ve worked hard to ensure this event highlights the talents, businesses, and cultural expressions of our Hispanic community.”
Attendees can also look forward to delicious food from local vendors, including Viva la Vida Snacks, Calaveras Mexican Grill, Kirchen Haus Coffee, Mr. Yummies Delicious Food, Squeezers, and presenting sponsor Supermercados Morelos.
“Fiesta de Mayo is about creating a space where the Hispanic community feels seen, celebrated, and included,” said Francisco Treviño, co-founder of Vega & Treviño Consulting. “It’s not just about sharing our culture — it’s about building bridges through music, food, tradition, and community.”
