Broken Arrow’s Economic Development Corp. recently named the recipients of the Amplify Broken Arrow Awards.
“Economic Development is not an organization, it is an action and it takes an entire community participating and investing to make it successful. The Amplify BA Awards recognize individuals, businesses, and organizations who have made a significant contribution to Broken Arrow through their economic development efforts,” said Jennifer Conway, president and CEO of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce and BAEDC.
The award categories are:
Innovation – This award recognizes a successful project, program, product, or service that thinks outside of the box and continues to stretch the boundaries of and has proven to be a leader in innovation.
Recipient: Kyle Al-Rifai, Automotive Industries
Restoration – This award recognizes a project that brings new life into an aging building or program.
Recipient: Bill Leet, Primus Properties
Transformation – This award recognizes a building, project or program that transforms the world around it, impacting the entire community and fostering economic growth of those around it.
Recipient: Neal Bhow, Tiger Hill
Development Creation – An individual who exemplifies entrepreneurship by creating a successful new business or industry.
Recipient: Kim Washburn, Laurannae Baking Co.
Amplification – An individual or business that has made a significant investment of resources (time, talent, treasures) in Broken Arrow that fosters economic development, positively impacting the quality of life by creating opportunity and ensures the success of Broken Arrow and the economy.
Recipient: Steve Easley, OakTrust Development
“We know that our community would not be where it is today without the vision and commitment of these individuals. The Broken Arrow Chamber and Economic Development Corporation felt it was important to recognize them, their contributions, and the legacy that will continue to bless our city for generations to come,” Conway said.
