Broken Arrow High School announced Tuesday it’s paving the way for the future of skilled trades with its first-ever construction program.
The program is made possible through a $160,000 investment from the Tulsa Home Builders Association (HBA) Charitable Foundation and the Hardesty Family Foundation.
The district said in an announcement the initiative provides students with hands-on experience, valuable industry connections, and essential tools, with the Home Builders Institute (HBI) curriculum offered free of charge for the first year.
Additionally, the HBA Charitable Foundation collaborated with Hilti to equip classrooms with the necessary tools.
Members of the Tulsa HBA joined Broken Arrow Options Academy for the Broken Arrow Construction Lab Open House Tuesday to showcase the new program, highlight student projects and offer a glimpse into how the next generation of builders is being trained.
