Broken Arrow police apprehended two people Thursday after they were allegedly breaking into vehicles.
Just before 2 a.m., police responded to reports of car break-ins on Lynn Lane Road and East Fargo Street. After a brief search, officers were able to apprehend two suspects who tried to evade capture.
Eighteen-year-old Christopher Venegas was found hiding under an SUV, while 20-year-old Tyler McCracken was located in a nearby field thanks to a collaborative effort with the BAPD K9 Unit and the Tulsa Police Department’s helicopter.
Investigation revealed both men entered and attempted to enter multiple vehicles in the neighborhood. Both Venegas and McCracken were arrested for three counts of 3rd-degree burglary to an automobile.
A huge shoutout to our officers for their hard work and to the Tulsa Police Department for their support,” BAPD said in a Facebook post Friday.
BAPD reminds citizens if see something suspicious in their neighborhood, they should give police please a call.

Has Tulsa had or will have any neighborhood meetings? We’ve had a lot of break ins in the area of east Tulsa, several vehicles burglarized and thousands of dollars worth on items stolen from our vehicles. We need a meeting pronto because this situation is too much too often. I live off of 31st and 129th East Ave.

Very sorry to hear this. Our suggestion would be to call the Tulsa Police Department’s community policing division and have a discussion with them. They can’t help if they’re not aware of the issue.
