The Broken Arrow Police Department is holding two community meetings to hear from the public on police services now and into the future.
The meetings are scheduled for Thursday, April 25 and Monday, April 29 at Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow, 3100 New Orleans Street.
Both meetings will be held in the Annex Room at 6:30 p.m. and are open to anyone to attend.
The purpose of the meetings is to develop a clear understanding of what the community expects in terms of field response and proactivity, including input on potential strategies to improve service delivery.
Potential issues for discussion could include:
- Response times for both emergency and non-emergency incidents.
- Expectations for officer responsibilities within specific geographical areas, as well as constant staffing of those areas.
- Presence provided and visibility of patrol officers.
- Attitudes toward BAPD community engagement and proactive policing activities.
- Programs and direct participation in community activities.
- Dialogue and communication on important community issues.
“We are seeking input from Broken Arrow residents to help identify expectations that we can meet,” said Broken Arrow Police Chief Brandon Berryhill. “The involvement of our citizenry is paramount to guiding BAPD as we plan for the future.”
The meetings will be led by Matrix Consulting Group, with an introduction by Chief Berryhill.
A Q&A session will follow the meeting. A video of the Monday, April 29th meeting will be published to the Broken Arrow Police Facebook and YouTube pages on Tuesday
