A fireworks display lit up the sky in east Broken Arrow Saturday night but it wasn’t planned or safe for anyone.
A blaze broke out at a large fireworks stand on Kenosha Street at S. 236th East Avenue at about 8:50 p.m., the Broken Arrow Fire Department said.
Upon arrival, BAFD Engine 4 find the stand on fire with fireworks actively detonating. As other crews arrived, A-Shift firefighters quickly controlled the scene and extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes. There were no reported injuries.
The Broken Arrow Police Department shut down Kenosha Street near the scene to facilitate response and protect the public.
