The Broken Arrow Tigers boys’ basketball team had a great playoff run to the semifinal game in the State Tournament this spring, but their season ended Friday after losing to Owasso High School 53-43.
The Tigers were tied with the Rams after the first quarter 14-14 but found themselves down 29-20 at halftime and 41-29 after three quarters. Owasso kept matching Broken Arrow’s output and the Tigers couldn’t catch up.
Coming off a big victory over Jenks — their third this year — a week ago in the Area Tournament, Coach Beau Wallace and the Tigers earned their trip to the 6A State Tournament after defeating Choctaw 66-57. That victory avenged a loss earlier in the season to the Yellowjackets.
Then Broken Arrow beat Union convincingly in the State quarterfinals, 64-38.
The Tigers finished the season 21-9. Owasso will play Edmond North in the State title game Saturday evening.
