A woman from Claremore was killed Sunday morning in a 3-car accident on Interstate 44 in Tulsa, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
The collision happened about 10:30 a.m. on I-44 just west of Garnett Road. Karen Greene, 74, of Claremore was driving a 2018 Porsche Macan and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two other drivers were Eric Long, 37, of Randolph, Miss., and 43-year-old Esteban Divente-Pascual of Tulsa. Long was driving a 2022 Freightliner was Divente-Pascual was driving a 2009 Mia Sportage.
Divente-Pascual was taken to St. Francis Hospital and admitted in stable condition, and a passenger of his — Juan Gutierres-Guerra (SIC) Hispanic male, 45, of Tulsa — was treated and released with minor injuries. Long was also treated for minor injuries and released.
OHP said the cause of the accident and the condition of the drivers is still being investigated.
EMSA and the Tulsa Fire Department assisted at the scene. Traffic was backed up for miles on I-44 westbound until the highway reopened 3 hours after the incident.
