Questions and controversy around the proposed Project Atlas data center in Coweta continue to roll on as a crucial vote on rezoning approaches in January.
Representatives from Beale Infrastructure plan to attend a Q&A session with members of the Coweta Chamber of Commerce on Dec. 17 at the Coweta Assembly Family Life Center, 29707 E. State Highway 51. The meeting is for Chamber members only.
The Coweta Chamber acknowledged there had been a lot of community discussion about the project and, if approved, what it would mean for members. Beale Infrastructure is expected to attend the Chamber’s membership meeting to share details of the proposed project.
“This meeting is for informational purposes only and to give our members an opportunity to ask questions. It does not constitute an endorsement of the project by the Coweta Chamber,” the organization said.
On Thursday, another town hall meeting about Project Atlas is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. at Our Finest Hour Church, 11045 State Highway 51. The hearing is billed as an opportunity for citizens to get additional questions answered about the proposal, although it’s not being hosted by Beale or the city.
An organizer of the meeting said the city and Beale were invited to attend the meeting but it’s unclear if they will.
Beale Infrastructure, the firm proposing a 400-megawatt data center in Coweta, has asked the city twice to delay public hearings on the project.
As of now, Coweta’s Planning Commission is set to hear a re-zoning request for the project at 6 p.m. on Jan. 19 at the ICTC Campus, 31850 Oklahoma Highway 51. Then a public hearing before the City Council will be Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. at the same location.
A spokesperson for Beale told the Sentinel earlier this month the company was still committed to the project, but additional time was requested to incorporate community feedback and other input into the project.

Great article. Hope you will be able to attend.
It will be interesting and informative for all whether for or against. The Coweta Chamber has not had the restrictions on any of their other meetings this year. We would like to attend, but not a member.
Even if one would apply/pay the $50 now, it would not clear until January.
