Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office investigators say they’re still searching for leads in the murder of Jack Grimes and disappearance of two others last fall.
The sheriff’s office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s underwater search and recovery team searched a pond on Grimes’ property Sunday, and authorities were expected back again Monday to continue their search. Cadaver dogs were expected to work the property and search warrants are still being executed in the case as well.
Grimes’ body was found by hunters Nov. 1 beyond a tree line south of East 59th Place and Yorktown Avenue in Turley by hunters who were trying to track a deer. Grimes’ friend Dwayne Selby and Selby’s mother, Glenda “Cookie” Parton are still missing.
Grimes, who was 76, had last seen alive Oct. 22, 2021 with Selby. They were supposed to attend a horse show in Fort Worth but they never arrived.
Parton, 80, was last seen Oct. 25 while driving her car as she had gone to look for her son. Her red Kia Rio car was found the next day abandoned on U.S. 75 near the 56th Street North.
The car that Selby, 59, and Grimes were supposed to have traveled to Texas together in was found early Oct. 28, abandoned in Mohawk Park, 5701 E. 36th St. North.

A person of interest in the case – who authorities said was with Parton just before she disappeared – was located, interviewed and released with no charges being filed, Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Casey Roebuck said Monday. Both Parton and the person of interest were seen in video that deputies obtained.
The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department has set up a tip line for those who may have information about the case, 918-596-8836, or they can send an email to the department.
