The Broken Arrow Police Department says a 34-year-old woman from Georgia was arrested Monday following a high-speed chase pursuit.
At about 4:30 p.m., police responded to the Bank of Oklahoma branch at 1520 N. 9th St. for a fraud call in progress. Officers located the vehicle of the suspect, Amanda Williams, in the drive-through of the bank.
After seeing police Williams sped off, at times reaching speeds of 90 mph in a posted 40 mph zone, as well as driving into oncoming traffic, said BAPD Public Information Coordinator Ethan Hutchins.
Williams collided with three vehicles before ultimately crashing in the 5000 block of South 177th East Avenue in Tulsa.
Following the crash, Williams fled into a nearby wooded area on foot but was subsequently arrested by authorities after a brief foot pursuit. Investigation revealed Williams attempted to cash a stolen check for $2,000 at the bank with a stolen driver’s license.
Officers also located 12.5 grams of fentanyl inside her purse, along with numerous credit card and debit cards, checks, social security cards and drivers’ licenses belonging to other people.
Williams was arrested on charges of aggravated fentanyl trafficking, felony eluding, identity theft, possession of CDS paraphernalia, possession of stolen property and uttering a forged instrument.
