Broken Arrow police said a juvenile was arrested in connection with Monday’s shooting behind a hotel, and the investigation is continuing.
The victim, also a juvenile, is expected to recover, said Broken Arrow Police Department PIO Ethan Hutchins.
The juvenile suspect was arrested for a felony, “but not as a youthful offender given his age and charge,” Hutchins said.
The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. in a parking lot behind Homewood Suites, 4900 W. Madison Pl. Police arrived at the scene to find a juvenile who had been wounded by gunfire.
McAuliffe Elementary and Union 8th Grade Center were placed on lockdown as a precaution but that was lifted 30 minutes later.
