Broken Arrow-based Goodacre Lawn Care has moved into a new office and warehouse at 2100 N. Willow Ave., Suite F.
Owner Nathan Goodacre says the move was made necessary by the rapid growth of the three-year- old company.
Following their graduation from Oklahoma State University, Goodacre and his wife Bridget moved to Colorado where she launched her career in commercial construction and he fulfilled his dream of becoming a wildland firefighter.
But even then, he said he began to realize he would never be happy doing anything but working for himself, preferably back home.
After a nine-year stint as a Tulsa County deputy sheriff, in the spring of 2020 Goodacre went out on a limb and started Goodacre Lawn Care. It consisted of him and a small inventory of lawn cutting equipment. A desk in his kitchen area served as an office and the garage was his shop and warehouse.
With a combination of hard work and liberal doses of good luck, he says the operation took off and today is in a growth mode he hopes – and expects – to continue.
In addition to traditional residential and commercial mowing services, his work crews now provide leaf removal, mulching, and flower and vegetable garden cleanout and pre-planting preparation.
A new addition is fence-construction and repair. Goodacre also has a spray license allowing him to apply various chemicals to lawns and landscape areas. Wintertime offerings include leaf removal and the hanging of Christmas lights.
“I love this area,” he said. “It’s home. My goal is to build an operation that is an asset to the community and allows us to stay here the rest of our lives.”
