Preliminary autopsy findings suggest the cause of death for a 14-year-old girl who died in an apparent murder-suicide Sunday was stragulation, the Broken Arrow Police Department said.
Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office said the official cause and manner death for the siblings is still pending. Police have declined to name the two juveniles, who were both students in Broken Arrow Public Schools.
Officers responded to a call at about 1:46 p.m. Sunday for a possible murder-suicide in the 4300 block of South Beech Avenue in Broken Arrow. On the scene they found two deceased juveniles inside the home — a 17-year-old male and his 14-year-old sister.
Police said they’re working BAPS to offer resources to students in the aftermath of the tragedy, and partnering with programs within the school district to educate teens on domestic violence and teen suicide.
