The suspect involved in an auto vs. pedestrian incident Tuesday has been arrested and faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, the Broken Arrow Police Department said.
Since the suspect is a juvenile police say the information to be released will be limited.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the Slim Chickens parking lot, 1100 E. Hillside Drive. Shortly after police released a still image of the suspect’s vehicle taken from the restaurant.
Early investigation revealed the suspect intentionally drove his vehicle toward the victim, ultimately striking him and pinning him between his truck and his own vehicle.
It appears this incident is the result of a road rage situation between two strangers, said BAPD Public Information Coordinator Ethan Hutchins. The victim remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Broken Arrow police thanked the public for the joint effort in sharing information about the case.
