A Tulsa man’s attempt to save a drowning teen’s life Thursday at a state park turned tragic, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
At about 12:15 p.m. at Appalachia Bay Recreation Area at Keystone Lake, a 14-year-old boy who was swimming there began to struggle in the water.
Nathan Richardson, 39, of Tulsa saw the teen in trouble and entered the water to rescue him but both he and the teen went under and did not surface.
Both of them were later recovered in 12 feet of water by state troopers and the OHP Dive Team and pronounced deceased at the scene by a state medical examiner. They were transported to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office in Tulsa.
OHP said neither victim was wearing a personal flotation device. The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the scene.

These are very interesting but sad stories. I would rather read a short, concisely written, article than a lot of the lengthy ones out there. I don’t getvthe newspapers any more and don’t watch the news on TV because it’s so biased. This is refreshing. Thank you.
