The Tulsa Police Department said two teen-age girls were killed and another is in critical condition after their vehicle veered off Riverside Drive into a creek Thursday night.
The girls who died and one student who is hospitalized were all juniors at Holland Hall, a private Episcopal school in Tulsa.
Police and firefighters were dispatched at 9:45 p.m. to a reported accident near 91st Street and Riverside Drive.
According to witnesses, a Tesla carrying the teens ran off the road, drove through the grass and fell into Joe Creek on the east side of Riverside. With help from the Tulsa Police Department helicopter, officers found the crashed-out car in the creek.
Due to the extensive damage to the vehicle, the Tulsa Fire Department had to extricate the teens. Two died in the crash and the driver was taken to the hospital for treatment and is reportedly in critical condition but expected to survive.
Residents through the metro area have been offering prayers and support for the families, students and staff at the school, which cancelled Upper School classes for Friday.

“Jenks Trojan family thoughts and prayers to the Holland Hall family during this most difficult time. Unfortunately we too have experienced the same tragedy and grief in losing students at such a young age. We are with them,” read a message Friday on the Jenks Football Alumni Facebook page.
TPD’s traffic investigators are still determining the precise cause of the crash.
