A woman was arrested Sunday after a domestic shooting occurred on the city’s south side, the Broken Arrow Police Department said.
Officers were called to the 100 block of West Honolulu Street in the early morning hours and found an adult male with a gunshot wound to a leg. The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.
Through investigation officers identified the shooting suspect as 26-year-old Alexis Anderson. Officers said they were told by the victim that Anderson was his girlfriend and the shooting followed a verbal altercation between both parties.
BAPD detectives spent the day investigating the incident and were able to locate Anderson in Tulsa. In a collaborative effort with the Tulsa Police Department, Anderson was taken into custody yesterday afternoon near 71st Street and State Highway 169.
Anderson will be booked into the Tulsa County Jail on a charge of shooting with intent to kill.
The Broken Arrow Police Department would like to thank the members of the community who assisted in this investigation, the telecommunicators who gathered information as the incident was unfolding and the officers who responded to and investigated the incident,” said BAPD Public Information Coordinator Ethan Hutchins.
