The woman who led Broken Arrow police on a dramatic chase through town Tuesday afternoon works for the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office, although she’s only been employed there for 3 months.
Attorney General John O’Connor’s office is in contact with Broken Arrow Police Department regarding an incident yesterday involving Courtney Rae Jordan, said Rachel Roberts, OAGO’s director of communications.
“Courtney Jordan is currently on administrative leave while our office gathers more information,” Roberts said in a statement. “Attorney General O’Connor is thankful no one was seriously hurt and grateful to the Broken Arrow Police Department for their response and handling of the situation.”
Jordan, 36, is a member of the Cherokee Nation and an assistant solicitor general and tribal liaison for the Oklahoma attorney general.
Jordan faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of leaving the scene of an injury collision, felony eluding, leaving the scene of a property damage collision and larceny from a dwelling stemming from Tuesday’s incident.

At about 1 p.m., police were dispatched to a hit-and-run collision in the 400 block of S. Pecan Street in Broken Arrow. The license plate tag obtained through witnesses checked back to a vehicle that was seen at the locations of two attempted burglaries approximately 30 minutes prior to the hit-and-run.
Broken Arrow officers located the vehicle near the location of the hit-and-run and initiated a traffic stop, where the Jordan hit a pedestrian and drove off, motoring through various commercial businesses near Aspen Avenue and Kenosha Street before coming to stop in a business parking lot.
“Ignoring officer commands, the suspect rammed a patrol car, causing the vehicle to hit the officer behind it before driving off again,” said Broken Arrow Police Department PIO Ethan Hutchins.
The suspect, again traveling at low speeds, continued through various commercial parking lots until leaving south on Aspen. Jordan, police said, continued at higher rates of speed south on Aspen and turned east onto Washington Street.
Once at Elm Place and Washington, Jordan collided with several vehicles at the intersection and again attempted to leave the scene before crashing into a privacy fence on Elm, where she was apprehended.
Jordan was taken by police to the hospital as a precaution and was medically cleared a short time later. All other individuals involved in the various collisions suffered non life-threatening injuries.
