The Broken Arrow Fire Department worked quickly Monday to put out a large camping trailer fire on Broken Arrow’s east side.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 4000 block of S. 213th Ave. E — near 47th Street and 209th East Avenue S. — around 8:45 a.m. They arrived to find a camper trailer on someone’s property fully engulfed with flames.
Firefighters were on scene within minutes of the call, with Ladder 6 arriving first followed by Engine 4. Heavy smoke filled the air and could be seen from miles as crews worked to knock down the flames.
Firefighters were able to fully extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to structures nearby. Crews were on scene for nearly 3 hours.
Also on scene were Engine 1, Rescue 1, Squad 4, Squad 7, an EMS officer and Battalion Chief.
There was no word Monday afternoon on what caused the fire and if anybody was occupying it. The cause is still under investigation, said BAFD spokesman Jarrett Hardwick.
