Two children were injured, one critically, in two separate sledding incidents Thursday in Broken Arrow.
Around 5:21 p.m., a 12-year-old boy was sledding on the north side of Albany when he entered the roadway and was struck by a westbound truck. The vehicle did not stop and continued going west after hitting the boy.
Video and witness statements indicate the truck was a ¾-ton or 1-ton newer-model white pickup with dark windows and extended mirrors. The juvenile was treated on scene and taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police are still working to identify the truck and its driver.

About 45 minutes later, police responded to the 2700 block of West Pensacola Street after calls of a vehicle having struck a juvenile. The boy, who police say was also 12, had been sledding when he entered the street and was hit by a passing vehicle. Police say the boy was dragged for an unknown distance before the vehicle was able to stop.
The juvenile was later transported by private vehicle to an area hospital with apparent minor injuries.
