Broken Arrow police are investigating the recent attempted abduction of an 11-year-old child. Officers responded Saturday to a report of a possible attempted abduction at 2900 S. Ash Ct.
The initial information obtained was the child was riding her bicycle at the intersection of Ash Court and Fulton Street when she was approached by an unknown suspect, who knocked her to the ground. The suspect then attempted to pull her into a van, said Broken Arrow Police Department PIO Christopher Walker.
The victim was able to describe the suspect wearing a mask and dark clothing but she was unable to tell if it was a male or female. The suspect was driving an unknown color van with tinted windows.
Walker said a detective is assigned to the case and will continue to follow up on the investigation. Anyone with information on this incident can call the non-emergency number at (918) 259-8400 or call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS and refer to case number 21-5795.
Walker said the incident doesn’t appear to be related to the earlier reported runaway, as online rumors have been spread and widely dissipated.
