Bixby High School continued its recent dynasty in prep football Friday with a comfortable victory over Jenks High School in the Class 6A-1 Championship Game.
Wide receiver Kordell Gouldsby ended his high school career by accounting for 5 touchdowns in the 49-21 Spartan victory at the University of Central Oklahoma’s Chad Richison Stadium.
Bixby jumped out to a 28-7 lead going into halftime and didn’t look back. Neither team scored in the third quarter but Bixby outscored Jenks 21-14 in the fourth frame.
The Spartans have won six straight championships, including two since their move from 6A-II to 6A-I. They cruised to victories over Norman (59-20) and Owasso (56-14) en route to the title game.
The Trojans earned a trip to the championship with a thrilling 33-27 victory over Union High School but fell short in its title quest Friday.
