Consent Agenda
The City Council approved a change order for the New Orleans Street widening contract with Becco Contractors. This change to project will add more than 3,000 feet of sidewalk to the south side of the road as well as upgrading the existing sidewalk on the north side to ADA requirements.
These improvements will add $155,000 to the project, paid for by the voter-approved 2014 and 2018 general obligation bonds.
Presentations
State Representative Ross Ford presented the 9 newest members of the Broken Arrow Police Department with Certificates of Recognition. These officers graduated from on our most recent police academy on August 4th and have started field training with experienced patrol officers.
Economic Development Authority
As part of the Aspen Ridge development that will soon bring new businesses to the south part of our community, an extension to Norfolk Drive is necessary. To build the road, the Authority approved a construction contract with Cherokee Pride Construction for $2.4 million dollars.
The roadway will be funded through the Tax Increment Finance District created for the Aspen Ridge project.
The next council meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 31.
