Due to major staffing shortages, Broken Arrow Public Schools has decided to move all 6th through 12th grade students to distance learning starting Tuesday, Jan. 11. Students will return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 18 since Monday, Jan. 17 is a holiday.
“We cannot safely and adequately hold school with so many staff absences at the secondary level, so this helps us not only alleviate that pressure, but also allows us to utilize our staff resources at the elementary levels to keep them in-person learning,” said Chuck Perry, superintendent of schools.
Students in all other grades and school sites across the district will continue in-person learning. All Level 2 and 3 special education students will report to class in person unless communicated otherwise.
In-person tutoring is available at each site by contacting your school. All extracurricular activities, practices and athletics will continue as regularly scheduled. No transportation will be provided to practices.
Child Nutrition will continue to provide meals daily during the work week at the school sites from noon to 1 p.m.
For additional information, please contact your site administrator and check out the latest updates on the district website at www.baschools.org and on our social media pages.
