Broken Arrow Public Schools teacher Amanda Bowser was announced Thursday at a finalist for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year.
Finalists were initially selected by their peers at their school site, then by district leadership as their district’s Teacher of the Year. State Supt. of Public Instruction Ryan Walters made the announcement Thursday.
Bowser, a 5th-grade math and science teacher at Rosewood Elementary School, was named Teacher of the Year in 2023 for the BAPS.
“Each season of teaching continues to reveal the accumulating power of ‘better together,’ Bowser said in information released by the state. “I am boldly confident this power is what strengthens and improves the teaching profession above all else.
“My growth as an educator is the direct result of those who first took the time to cultivate me. While you will still find me seeking advice and wise counsel, you will most certainly also find me pouring into new teachers and colleagues in my hallway, my building, and my district, just like those who did the same for me.”

The finalists will be interviewed and evaluated by a panel of Oklahomans to determine the state Teacher of the Year. The Oklahoma Teacher of the Year will be announced in conjunction with InspireOK to be held in July.
“I am thrilled to introduce this year’s finalists for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year,” said Walters. “These 10 extraordinary educators are setting high standards for teachers throughout our state. Each of these finalists are models for exceptional performance in the classroom, and I wish them all the best throughout the selection process.”
