Another ShamRock the Rose fund-raiser for Soldiers Wish is in the books, as hundreds of people came to the Rose District in Broken Arrow.
Hundreds of people came downtown on a chilly Saturday evening to take advantage of the live music, beer garden and nearly 100 street vendors featuring local businesses, churches, crafters, retail boutiques, military organizations and other entities. Advance Alarms was the presenting sponsor for this year’s festival.
Veteran Robert Carter was given a check for $5,000 for badly needed home repairs. Watch a video of the presentation below. ShamRock the Rose is Broken Arrow’s longest-standing, free St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
The mission of Soldier’s Wish is to identify unmet needs of veterans of military service regardless of branch or rank and identify or provide resources to meet those needs by providing needed support directly to the veteran service members and/or their families in order that such service members can lead normal and productive lives.
