A man was arrested near downtown Bixby Sunday evening after a standoff with police, several media outlets are reporting.
Bixby police notified those traveling near the intersection of Breckenridge and Dawes streets to avoid the area.
Chief Todd Blish told media they activated the Southwest Area Tactical Team to serve a warrant on John Chehval, a theft suspect, but he refused to come out of the home. He was eventually arrested 2 hours later.
Chehval was treated for minor injuries from an encounter with a police K9 and taken into custody, Bish told media outlets.
