Union Pacific Railroad announced improvements are coming to several railroad crossings throughout the City of Broken Arrow.
Beginning Aug. 10, designated railroad crossings will be closed to motorists during the construction project, which includes removing and replacing the rails, ties, and ballasts.
The proposed locations and closing dates are as follows:
- Aug. 10: Oneta Road (65th Street/South 241st East Avenue)
- Aug. 11: Evans Road (51st Street/South 225th East Avenue)
- Aug. 12: South 219th E. Avenue
- Aug. 13: County Line Road (23rd Street/South 193rd East Avenue)
- Aug. 14: Lynn Lane Road (9th Street/South 177th East Avenue)
- Aug. 15: South Main Street
- Aug. 16: West Dallas Street and South Cedar Avenue intersection
- Aug. 17: South Elm Place (South 161st East Avenue)
Once the rails, ties, and ballasts are installed throughout the City, Union Pacific crews will return in 2-3 weeks and replace the cold patch asphalt with hot mix asphalt.
