A series of earthquakes has rattled the northeast Oklahoma City metro, including a 4.4 magnitude quake.
At least eight separate events have been recorded by the USGS between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. ranging from 1.9 to 4.4 on the Richter scale, all centered just east of Edmond.
According to U.S. Geological Survey data, a 3.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 9:37 p.m. about 3 miles west of Arcadia. About 10 minutes later, a 4.2-magnitude quake hit 4 miles west of Arcadia, USGS said.
A third quake measuring 2.7 magnitude was recorded at 9:53 p.m. near Arcadia. The USGS also reported that a 2.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 10:02 p.m. near Arcadia. Several more occurred afterward as well.
A map shows the quakes to be centered near the Northeast Edmond Gas and Oil Field. Arcadia is located just east of Edmond. There was no word of any damage to structures.
