Enjoying the summer-like weather? It’s going to feel a lot different tomorrow after a strong cold front pushes through Oklahoma.
A red-flag warning is still in effect through tonight at 8 p.m., as outdoor conditions are very dry, the National Weather Service office in Tulsa says.
Tonight and overnight, winds will kick up from the north at 20-25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. The high winds have drawn a wind advisory from the National Weather Service for northeastern Oklahoma and vicinity through 3 a.m. No precipitation is forecast in the Tulsa metro tonight.
Temperatures will have dropped by about 40 degrees on Wednesday with a high temperature of only 46 degrees and winds gusting 20-25 mph — creating wind chill values in the mid-teens to upper 20s.
High temps will gradually recover during the week with a high of 55 Thursday and reaching near 80 on Sunday before another cold front swings through. This one won’t be quite as strong, however. Although the sunshine returns this weekend, winds are going to stay gusty through the period.
