Get ready to pull out your dancing shoes, grab your best lawn chair and strap on the feed bag as the New Orleans Square Block Party in Broken Arrow arrives in 2 weeks.
The Block Party will be bigger and better this year, as it’s slated for 3 days and features an expanded lineup of entertainment.
The food, fun and entertainment runs from 5-10 p .m. June 27-29 at the northwest corner of New Orleans Street and Elm Place.
Highlights of the Block Party will include:
- Live performances from renowned artists
- Fireworks displays on Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m.
- A diverse selection of food trucks and vendors
- A dedicated Kids Zone with activities for children
- Touch-a-Truck featuring over 20 different city and county vehicles
- Complimentary Uber rides for guests staying at select Broken Arrow hotels
- Attendees can also explore about 100 vendors showcasing unique products and services on Friday and Saturday
Thursday, June 27: The festivities kick off with a performance by Drake Milligan.
Friday, June 28: The musical lineup will include John Cafferty of the ‘John Cafferty & Beaver Brown Band,’ Alex Ligertwood, former lead singer of ‘Santana,’ Kevin Chalfant, who performed with ‘Journey’ & ‘The Storm,’ John Elefante, former lead singer of ‘Kansas,’ Johnny Edwards, former lead singer of ‘Foreigner,’ and Billy Burnette and Bekka Bramlett, former lead singers of Fleetwood Mac. The night concludes with a fireworks display at 10 p.m.
Saturday, June 29: The entertainment continues with St Paul and the Minneapolis Allstars, featuring members of Prince and the Revolution, The Time, and New Power Generation. The evening also includes a performance by Chicago Nights, featuring former lead singers of Chicago Jason Scheff and Bill Champlin, with Chris Rodriguez on guitar. Another fireworks display will light up the sky at 10 p.m.
Food and Vendors: The Block Party will feature an array of food trucks offering everything from BBQ and gourmet pops to Mexican street food and sweet treats. Attendees can also explore a variety of vendors showcasing unique products and services.
Parking and Transportation: New Orleans Square offers multiple parking spaces, with the northwest quadrant reserved for festival and disabled parking. Disabled parking can be accessed from New Orleans Street. For added convenience, an area at Arrow Heights Baptist Church will be designated for rideshare pickup and drop-off. Please do not park on the side of the road.
Seating: All areas of New Orleans Square provide great views for watching the fireworks. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Strollers and wagons are also welcome.
Pets: The City of Broken Arrow discourages bringing pets to the festival due to the potential for hot pavement, loud noises, and limited access to water. Additionally, City Ordinance 2067 prohibits dogs at assemblies of over 1,000 people, with exceptions for service animals.
Road Closures: The intersection of New Orleans and Elm will close at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 28, reopening at 11 p.m., and will close again at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, reopening at 11 p.m. Access to the northeast, southwest, and southeast parking lots will be available, with disabled parking in the northwest quadrant.
