City officials said Thursday that Broken Arrow has been selected for an Amazon Same Day Delivery Station, which supports the company’s burgeoning delivery network.
The 250,000-square-foot facility will be located in what currently is an empty field off College Street, west of County Line Road in eastern Broken Arrow.
City leaders said the project, “reinforces Broken Arrow as a hub for modern logistics and private investment.” The facility will support Amazon’s last-mile delivery network by using passenger vehicles for delivery, a model that aligns with the city’s transportation infrastructure and growth plans.
The announcement marks another milestone in Broken Arrow’s economic momentum and its ability to attract top employers seeking connectivity, a strong workforce, and a business-friendly environment.
By having a Same-Day Delivery Station in Broken Arrow, Amazon will be able to fulfill, sort, and deliver orders from a single site, making the delivery of customer packages even faster.
Mayor Debra Wimpee welcomed the new employer, which is expected to create over 100 local jobs.
“This investment will not only strengthen our local economy but also create new job opportunities for our residents,” Wimpee said in a statement. “It’s a testament to Broken Arrow’s growth and our commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment that attracts world-class companies.
“Like Broken Arrow, e-commerce is thriving, and I can think of no better city to help Amazon maintain its commitment to operational excellence in service to its customers.”
Over the last year, Broken Arrow has seen more than $350 million in private investment and 500 new jobs, said City Manager Michael Spurgeon. “With more than 600,000 square feet of retail and commercial space currently under construction in Broken Arrow, Amazon’s announcement is further proof of Broken Arrow’s economic vitality, which provides a solid return on private investment.”
Amazon’s arrival to the city was made possible through a partnership with the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corp. (BAEDC), which worked closely with Amazon and city leaders throughout the site selection and development process to help bring the investment to fruition.
“This announcement reflects the kind of strategic, high-quality growth Broken Arrow continues to attract,” said Amber Miller, Vice President of Economic Development at the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corp. “Amazon’s decision to invest here speaks volumes about our community’s regional access, skilled workforce, and pro-business climate. We are proud to help guide this project from early discussions through final development.”
